I offer individual therapy for children and teens (ages 8+) as well as family therapy and parent consultations.
Telehealth
Due to the nature of my work with children and teens, I find in-person services work best. I do provide telehealth appointments as needed to accommodate busy family schedules.Consultation & Collaboration
When helpful, I may collaborate with schools or other outside providers to support continuity of care and better understand a child’s needs. Services requiring significant time outside of scheduled sessions, including extended consultations or meetings, may incur additional fees.Inclusive & Affirming
Nolo Counseling welcomes clients of all faiths, racial and ethnic identities, sexual orientations, gender identities, and family structures. Therapy is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and respect for each client’s individual story. -
Parents and/or guardians are an essential part of the process.
I work collaboratively with you to better understand what your child is experiencing, what you are experiencing, and to provide guidance on how to implement changes and provide support at home.
I believe that transparency is key to building trust and strengthening relationships. My goal is for you to feel more confident, informed, and connected to your child as they grow as well as assist your child in learning to communicate or share with parents in a healthy & effective way.

Trauma-Informed Care
I approach therapy through a trauma-informed lens, recognizing how past experiences can impact emotions, behavior, relationships, and a child’s sense of safety. My goal is to create a space that feels steady, supportive, and empowering.
School-Related Concerns
With a background in school counseling, I understand the academic, social, and emotional pressures students face. I support children and teens experiencing school anxiety, peer challenges, academic stress, emotional regulation difficulties, and school avoidance.
Grief & Loss
Loss can take many forms, including the death of a loved one, divorce, relocation, friendship changes, or other major life shifts. Therapy offers a space to process grief, express emotions, and build resilience and support nets through difficult transitions.
Adoption & Family Dynamics
Children and teens navigating adoption, identity, attachment, or changing family relationships may carry complex emotions that deserve care and understanding. I support young people and families in exploring these experiences with sensitivity and compassion.
Blended Families
Transitions within family systems can bring both connection and challenge. I work with children and teens as they navigate changing family roles, relationships, communication, and adjustment within blended families.
Anxiety & Depression
Feelings of anxiety, overwhelm, sadness, or withdrawal can impact many areas of a child or teen’s life. I help clients better understand their emotions, develop coping strategies, and feel more grounded in themselves and their relationships.

Session frequency is determined collaboratively based on your child or teen’s needs, goals, and what is considered most clinically appropriate.
Most clients begin with weekly sessions, as consistency is often important in building trust, developing coping skills, and creating meaningful progress. As therapy progresses, some clients may transition to biweekly sessions depending on their needs and level of support.
Recommendations are individualized and may change over time as goals evolve.
