Areas of Specialty
School-Related Concerns
With a background in school counseling, I understand the academic, social, and emotional pressures students face. I help children and teens experiencing school anxiety, peer challenges, academic stress, emotional regulation difficulties, and school avoidance to build their support team, identify strengths and barriers, as well as practice strategies to move through any challenges.
Trauma-Informed Care
I approach therapy through a trauma-informed lens, recognizing how past experiences can impact emotions, behavior, relationships, and a child’s sense of safety. Whether your child is facing significant trauma or an experience that has left them feeling outside of the current ability to cope, my goal is to create a space that feels steady, supportive, and empowering.
Grief & Loss
Loss can take many forms, including the death of a loved one, divorce, relocation, a significant new health or developmental diagnosis, or other major life shifts. Children experience and process grief differently than adults. They may alternate between crying and playing, or may show regressive behaviors like sleep disruptions and separation anxiety. Therapy offers a space for kids to learn about and process grief, express emotions, and build resilience and support nets.
Blended Families
Transitions within family systems can bring both connection and challenge. I work with children and teens as they navigate changing family roles, relationships, communication, and adjustment within blended families.
Adoption & Family Dynamics
Children and teens navigating adoption, identity, attachment, or changing family relationships may carry complex emotions that deserve care and understanding. I support young people and families in exploring the unique personal experiences and questions that may arise with sensitivity and compassion.
Anxiety & Depression
Feelings of anxiety, overwhelm, sadness, or withdrawal can impact many areas of a child or teen’s life. I help clients better understand their emotions, develop coping strategies, and feel more grounded in themselves and their relationships.
